The calm looking, Iloilo native and a proud one at that founded his calling in fashion design when he managed his mother’s tailoring and furniture business. But for the most part, it was his mother, the woman closest to his heart, who inspired him to pursue such a career. Unbeknownst to him, it was one of the monumental marks that ultimately changed both his life and the Philippine fashion industry.
With his ceaseless passion for fashion, he nurtured his already incredible talent at the famed Central Saint Martins in London where he learned the tools of the trade, so to speak. There, he studied Experimental Fashion, Fashion Forecast, Street Style London and Fashion London. With his rich knowledge at hand and from the vivacity of life where his ultimate inspiration lies, he makes and translates beautiful masterpieces that not only parades in the country’s runway but internationally as well. Talk about world-class designs from a world-class designer.
But what Eric is known for is his keen sense of aesthetics and versatile style with rousing additions of sassiness and fearlessness when it comes to dresses and gowns that imparts electricity in everyone’s spine. And to date, Eric continues to hem huge waves of it, so much so that it has moved the landscape of the country’s fashion industry and leaves everybody in a state of awe all the time.
His latest work was a tribute to the woman who sparked his fashion ingenuity, which was yet another thriller of a collection.
